How Does Trash And Recycling Service Work?

Music Mountain Waste Services provides each customer with a convenient 96-gallon container for residential trash and recycling. Simply place the container at the designated pickup location on your scheduled service day, and our team will take care of the rest. Customers can choose biweekly pickup for $38 per month or weekly pickup for $58 per month. Trash service also includes three container washings and three yard-waste pickups each year at no additional cost. Compost service may be added to either plan for just $20 per month. Trash and recycling pickup is currently available in select towns.

What Towns Do You Offer For Trash/Recycling?

As of right now, we offer a few select towns with more to come. Right now we service Rutland City, Rutland Town, West Rutland, Clarendon, Wallingford, Mendon, Killington, Pittsfield, Pittsford, Brandon, Florence, Castleton, and Hubbardton.

Can I Put Meat & Bones In My Bucket?

Yes, you can. Meat and bones are compostable just like any other food waste.

Can I Get Weekly Pickup?

As of now, based on the current routes, we offer bi-weekly pickup. There are times if it works out, that we can pick up your bucket every week. Feel free to contact us directly for these cases. We are expanding so there is a possibility we will offer weekly pickups in the future.

Can I Get A Smaller Size Bucket?

Currently, we only offer our five-gallon buckets. This may change in the future (for bigger and smaller sizes).

I Have Multiple Buildings I Need Pickup Service For, Is There A Discount?

Yes. We offer bulk discounts. The price lowers as more buckets are added. Contact us directly to learn more.

Can I Choose My Pickup Day?

It depends. Our routes are scheduled based on many different factors. Sometimes, if our schedule allows, we can make certain accommodations. Contact us directly to learn more.

Can I Pay Using Venmo, PayPal, Credit/Debit Card, etc.?

Currently, we accept checks, cash, and Venmo. Our Venmo name is @MusicMountainCompost.

Can I Use Compostable Bags?

Yes, you can. They will however end up in their pile as they take a long time to break down v.s. food waste.

Where Does My Compost Go?

All collected food waste goes to our facility called Vermont Black Gold which is based in Rochester, VT.

What Towns Do You Service?

We currently serve communities in Central and Southern Vermont. We are continuing to expand, so if you do not see your town here, please message us. We are adding new towns by the week and we can get a route made to help serve you. Just let us know.
